Dr. Jodi L. Houts
After graduating from Iowa State University in 2000, Dr. Houts spent her first year out of school in her hometown of Sioux City, IA at a mixed animal practice with small animals and horses.
In 2001, she moved to Burleson, TX and worked at a small animal practice for 4 years. Although she loved it there, she realized it was too far from family. She and her husband, George, moved to Omaha in 2005, and she has been at Northwest Animal Hospital ever since.
Dr. Houts and George have four children: Perry, Tyson, Madeline, and Colton. They have 3 dogs (Tobi, Hopper and Nicolette+).

Dr. Mark P. Kielian
Dr. Kielian, a 1994 graduate of the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine, joined Northwest Animal Hospital in June 2008. Previously, he practiced in Kansas City, MO; Springfield, VT; Little Rock, AR; and in Kansas.
He is a native of Omaha and graduated from Creighton Prep High School in 1986. In 1990, he graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science.
Dr. Kielian's experiences include nearly a year in emergency practice in Kansas City and, during his veterinary school training, a month-long preceptorship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City.
Dr. Kielian and his wife, Tammy, have two sons. Their longtime companion, B.B., a black Cocker Spaniel mix, passed away in February 2008. She was adopted from Wayside Waifs in Kansas City in 1994 and accompanied them from Kansas City to Vermont and on to Little Rock, Arkansas. She adapted to their many changes with grace and ease. She is deeply missed.
In June 2009, after going for over a year without a dog, the family adopted a Jack Russell Terrier from Town and Country Humane Society. Her name is Anni, and she has been a great dog. In January 2011, they adopted a Long-Haired Dachshund named Coco, and they are now busy adapting to multiple pets for the first time. So far, so good.
